Paul Maher is a professional orchestral percussionist with over 20 years experience in the classical music industry including 13 years as Sub-principal Percussionist with the National Symphony Orchestra.

Additionally, Paul continues to work on a range of educational projects with the National Concert Hall’s Learn and Explore team, the Local Music Education Services Partnership pilots and other organisations.

Paul is currently undertaking an M.Sc. in Education and Training Management (e-learning) in Dublin City University to further his knowledge and skills in incorporating new e-learning technologies to improve teaching and learning.

Karan provides support for the development of curriculum related content for Simply Music.  Karan was formerly a music teacher at secondary level and a lecturer in Music Teaching at the Froebel College of Education. Additionally, she was the Events and Operations Manager at the National Concert Hall until 2000 and since this time has operated a successful independent consultancy practice for the Arts and Cultural sector in Ireland.  Karan holds an M.A. in Cultural Policy, HDE and HDAA from University College Dublin.

Additionally, Simply Music works with freelance professional symphonic musicians who have a background in music education projects. These musicians have worked together over a number of years on various music education projects including:

• NCH / Docklands Project
• NCH / Children’s Music Workshops
• NCH / Enable Ireland Workshops
• Simply Music Interactive Percussion Workshops 

Síle has worked alongside Paul for many years with both the National Concert Hall’s Education & Outreach team and with both RTE Orchestras, and has become a regular addition to the Simply Music team. She is currently working with Paul to support In-Service Teacher Training workshops as well as her involvement on new additions to upcoming projects. Síle has given solo & chamber music recitals in Spain, Italy, and Britain.

Ben is a renowned composer and has worked with Simply Music on previous projects. Ben is considered to be one of the leading composers of his generation in Ireland and has received commissions from RTÉ national television & radio, the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, and RTÉ Lyric fm radio among others.

All the musicians above have worked alongside Paul for many years with both the National Concert Hall’s Education & Outreach team and with both RTE Orchestras, and have become regular additions to the Simply Music team.
