Simply Music is funded by The Arts Council of Ireland, the Irish government agency for developing the arts. We are currently at the pre planning stages for the development of collaborative initiatives with the National Centre for Technology in Education (NCTE) as well as the Education Resource Centres Directorate.

Simply Drums has also been piloted through the National Concert Hall’s Education & Outreach Department with two separate initiatives:

1. Interactive Technology Music Education / Performance Workshops for students in both disadvantaged and mainstream educational settings
2. In Service Teacher Training Workshops for primary teachers, Summer 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011 – vetted by the Department of Education & Skills

“In the Simply Music teacher training summer courses at The National Concert
Hall, teachers have found the content accessible and engaging, regardless of
their level of musical or technological experience. It has been wonderful to see
(and hear!) how, even those teachers who start out without much confidence in
their natural musical abilities are enthusiastic performers by the end of the fiveday
course.
From year to year – and even from day to day within the course -- Paul continues
to adapt and innovate, so that the content is always evolving. Paul takes this
same approach to his in-school workshops, making Simply Music accessible to
an ever-widening audience, for example by translating the content into Irish, or
by creating an infants’ version of the workshop. Paul gave a “sneak preview” of
the Simply Music infants’ workshop content during one of our parent-toddler
classes; the combination of boomwhackers and video projection added very
stimulating new elements to the learning experience.”
